She's Bold with Beth Whitman

Ladies! Please join our Be Bold Facebook Group!

This is one of those episodes where you're going to want to grab a pen and paper and sit down to take notes. If you’re driving, running or exercising, be forewarned that you’re going to have to go back and re-listen to this so you can jot down the many quotes and gems that my guest today drops during this conversation.

Today’s conversation is with recurring guest, Linda Fane. If you haven’t already listened to previous episodes with her, go back and check out episode 5 and episode 39. And I guarantee you’ll be in for a treat because this is like having your own private dharma teaching

In this episode, we focused on belief, mainly in the sense of us being able to conjure up an idea or a goal and then be able to make that happen. And as a Buddhist teacher, of course, Linda brings with it this Buddhist perspective, specifically that the mind is the means to the end and that everything has been and will be created in the future because of our mind. Everything we know as true (or perceive to be true) is because of our mind.

But, as we discuss, you can’t get somewhere (or feel something, like happiness) simply because you believe it. You have to put forth effort as well.

So we explore that. We explore what it means to have a belief and the importance of knowing ourselves well enough that we’re then not being swayed by other people or that we buy into their beliefs simply because they say something enough times or they say it loudly enough.

In addition to belief, we also talk about being honest, we talk about social media and how we’re prone to only posting positive things even when we may be hurting, we talk politics without really talking about politics and we finish up with enlightenment.

My goal with this and all episodes is to feature women with inspirational stories to share.

These are women who come from a wide range of backgrounds but the one thing they have in common is that they are Bold in what they do. They follow what they love and have created a lifestyle that supports it.

When we hear stories about other people’s success and triumph over obstacles, that’s inspiring! These conversations are meant to make us all feel like anything is possible.

We all have the ability to become better versions of ourselves and I know that in these conversations, you’re going to find pearls of wisdom. Bits of information that inspire and motivate you. I’m hoping you’ll hear something that makes you want to change and make choices in your life that ultimately makes you happier and more fulfilled.

With that, please enjoy this conversation with Buddhist teacher, Linda Fane.
